But something else was in his mind on the night of the draft. His former LSU teammate, Kyren Lacy, died last week of self -inflicted shot.
In the draft, Campbell had a pin with the number 2 of Lcy in its flap.
“Kyren is a special human being. I feel for his family. They have spent a lot lately. He has a big family. He was not only a good football player. He was a good teammate, a good son, a good older brother and a good guy in general,” said Campbell.
“It is terrible, everything that has happened. I am sending many prayers to his family because he was going to call his name this weekend … although he is not called his name, he will cross that stage. He is here with us in spirit, and it was an honor to be part of his trip.”
