The NFL 2025 draft brought its fair part of surprises, but the Shedeur Sanders saga became a very discussed topic.

The Cleveland Browns selected Sanders in the fifth round. Shortly after the national team, Sanders turned to social networks to share a short but emotional message: “Thank God.” In later days, many figures in the world of sport and beyond have shared thoughts about why Sanders fell through the boards.

The member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Cris Carter, is one of the last old NFL stars that evaluates Sanders’ situation.

In what seemed to be his shot without filter, Carter suggested that Sanders sacrificed dozens of millions of dollars due to his disposal and general management before the draft last week.

“(Sheduer and his family) thinking that he was in the same way of evaluation as Eli Manning, did not play that right,” Carter said during a recent location on the “completely loaded” podcast.

“Were they trying to reduce the teams I was going to go? That didn’t go well.

The NFL legend also backed away the notion that the League colluded to prevent Sanders from becoming a high draft selection. Carter said that former Campo de Colorado Marshal and his family “exaggerated his hand.”

“Several things happened. The number 1 that did not happen was that there was no collusion message with the NFL owners,” Carter said. “They couldn’t maintain a secret like that. He exaggerated his hand.”

Carter admitted that Sanders had intangibles that they were worthy of a first round selection, but not before aiming the physical features of the field marshal.

“He does not have an arm big. He is not a big guy. He is not too athletic. His measurables are not, for example, measurables of first round. But he played football as a first ronor … but you don’t play football all the time. You are a human the rest of the time,” Carter said.

Sanders ended the 2024 season with 4,134 air yards. He is the son of the member of the Hall of Fame Pro Football and the coach of Football of Colorado Deion Sanders. It will join a field marshal room full of people in Cleveland that presents Deshaun Watson, Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel.
