It’s better late than ever.

Shedeur Sanders had to wait until day 3 of the NFL 2025 draft, but the Cleveland Browns finally called their name with the general selection 144 in the fifth round of the draft on Saturday.

The first round of the draft was not how Sanders imagined, since he did not hear his name was called. But nobody expected the same thing to happen on Friday night, since three more quarterbacks were taken before him.

After Cam Ward was number 1, the free fall really began when the New Orleans Saints chose to go with Kelvin Banks Jr. with the ninth selection.

All eyes were in the Pittsburgh Steelers at number 21 in the first round, but since nobody changed in front of them, their selection also came and left without a QB, opting for Derrick Harmon.

New York giants returned to the first round, but opted for Jaxson Dart On the other hand, ending effectively any possibility that Sanders is a first round.

Then, Tyler Shaugh, Jalen Milroe and Dillon Gabriel were selected on Friday.

But Gabriel, whom the Browns selected in the third round, is now Sanders’ teammate while bringing another field marshal.

After the first round, Sanders admitted that “he did not expect” his fall on Thursday, but now he is “fire fuel.” On Saturday morning before the fourth round began, he published in X saying that he was excited for “another opportunity to have the opportunity to play the game I love.”

The Browns finally turned that dream into reality, and now Sanders can look forward to impact the team and the city of Cleveland next season and beyond.

Sanders, a four -star recruit and the 100 best general prospects throughout the country, began his university career along with his father in Jackson State after “Prime coach” was brought to lead the program. Initially he promised to play in Florida Atlantic despite multiple offers of the SEC.

Sanders quickly showed his approval skills, gaining Honors of Swac Freshman of the Year after launching for 3,231 yards with 30 TouchDowns eight interceptions, while also rushes to enter three scores in 13 games.

In 2022, Sanders surpassed him with a player’s performance of the Swac year, which included 3,752 yards, 40 touchdowns and only six interceptions with six more touchdowns per land.

However, the competition changed when Sanders followed his father again, this time in Colorado to start at PAC-12. The buffalo were not immediately successful, but the exaggeration was high when Sanders entered and threw for 3,230 yards with 27 touchdowns only three interceptions.

It had a 69.3% completion rate in 430 attempts at 11 games. The buffaloes would end 4-8 in the season, with Sanders losing the end due to a fractured back.

Instead of entering the draft last season, Sanders stayed for another year in Colorado, and seemed to be the correct movement. He obtained all-American honors of the second team, in addition to being appointed the offensive player of the year Big 12 and finalist of the Heisman trophy. He established a school record with 64 TouchDowns of career in his career, and did so in just two game seasons.

Sanders also led the FBS with a 74%completion rate, again another school record. In 13 games, it had 4,134 air yards with 37 touchdowns at 10 interceptions.

In the tape, Sanders is a highly precise field marshal with a good presence of pocket and the ability to fight, which he would like to see at the professional level. Some expert criticisms include a standard NFL arm with a long release compared to others, and a special ability to want the game of large part instead of going through progressions and verifying when necessary.

There is also the massive focus that Sanders has been considering his father’s lush personality as a player and now a coach. According to the reports, a NFL coach called it “titled”, while others are skeptics about how this popularity will affect it in the field in this new level.
