NFL football is back in action. Well, more or less.
The Los Angeles Chargers will face the Detroit Lions in the game of the Fame of Professional Football 2025 at 8 pm et in Canton, Ohio.
It will be the first time since 2000 that a NFL preseason game will be played in July.

The closed wing Antonio Gates, a legend of the Chargers, will be officially included in the Hall of Fame on Saturday, along with corner Eric Allen, the defensive wing Jared Allen and the open receiver Sterling Sharpe.
The lions will be the designated local team of the game after they left 15-2 last season and were the number 1 seed of the NFC. They were annoying impressive by Washington’s commanders in the divisional round.

John Morton, who served as coordinator of the Denver Broncos passes game in the last two seasons, was hired to replace Johnson as offensive coordinator. Kelvin Sheppard, who spent the last three seasons as coach of lions supporters, was promoted to replace Glenn.
As for the chargers, they come from a campaign in which they were 11-6 and arrived at the playoffs in the first season of Chief coach Jim Harbaugh with the team. They lost in the Round of Commodines against the Houston Texans, a game in which Field Marshal Justin Herbert fought powerfully.
In more than 17 regular seasonal games, Herbert launched only three interceptions, but in the defeat of the Playoffs of the Chargers, he released four interceptions in his career.
However, Herbert will not play on Thursday, since Trey Lance and the Non -recruited rookie Dj Uiagalelei will get the snapshots.

Lance played four games for the Dallas Cowboys last season and completed 61% of its passes for 266 yards and an interception. Uiagalelei played in three different universities in his career: Clemsson (2020-2022), the state of Oregon (2023) and the state of Florida (2024).
The lions will have Hendon Hooker and Kyle Allen as their quarterbacks in the exhibition game.
Hooker was the third round of the Lions in the NFL 2023 draft and appeared in three games last season. Allen spent last season with the Pittsburgh Steelers and is entering his first year with the lions.
