It was feared that the security of the Houston Texans CJ Gardner-Johnson has suffered a significant injury in Thursday’s practice in West Virginia, but seems to have avoided the worst possible result, according to the last update.
Gardner-Johnson’s ACL is intact, but the team is doing more tests to determine the scope of the injury, Espn said.
According to reports, the team is not worried about Gardner-Johnson’s ACL.

Gardner-Johnson, 27, was injured when he tried to address the open receiver John Metchie in practice. Once the two got in touch, Gardner-Johnson fell to the ground and had pain.
Security could not exert any pressure on their right leg, and the medical staff finally helped a cart.
“It’s a heartbreaking when you see a boy falling into the field like this and does not get up quickly,” said chief coach Demeco Ryans about the injury after practice.

“I am always nervous as a chief coach every time I see someone hitting the ground. It’s hard to see. So, we’ll see: we will evaluate CJ, we’ll see where it is, but there is no update right now.”
Gardner-Johnson is entering his first season with the Texans after he was acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for the left guard Kenyon Green. It was expected that it was the free security of the team after the Texans lost Eric Murray in the free agency against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Gardner-Johnson was outstanding for the Super Bowl winning eagles last season. In 16 regular season games last year, security had six interceptions (including one returned for a touchdown), 59 combined cups and a forced loose ball.
Gardner-Johnson had 14 cups in the four playoff games of the team.
