Darren Waller backed up the clock on Monday night to help Miami Dolphins beat New York’s jets.

Pro Bowl’s closed Bowl wing appeared in his first game for the Dolphins in the 2025 season after taking a year free of football after a period with the New York giants. It looked like his former self, since he was able to carve the defense of the jets several times.

Waller caught two TouchDown passes in a single game for the first time since he was with Las Vegas Raiders in December 2020. He had his first touchdown capture since October 2023 when he was still with the giants.

TouchDown’s first capture came in the second quarter. Tua Tagovaila found a way to bring the Dolphins to the red zone thanks to a creative launch to Malik Washington and easy pitches to Tyreek Hill.

The second TouchDown limited a six -game and 35 -yard trip in the third quarter. Tagovaila found Waller for a 9 -yard touchdown capture.

Waller had taken a bit to return to the form of the game, since he had been out of the league for more than a year. But, at least on Monday, the chances of Dolphins assuming Waller worth it.

Not everyone is smiles for the Dolphins.

Miami was hit in the third quarter when Hill suffered a horrible knee injury. Multiple reports indicated that the team feared that its knee would have dislocated. If confirmed, it is likely to go out for the rest of the season.

Hill had six trapped for 67 yards before leaving the game. Waller had three trapped for 27 yards.

The jets tried to return to the game.

Justin Fields needed a miracle in 4th and 1 in the third quarter. He was being persecuted by the defense of the Dolphins and could prevent possible cups from finding a hole and exploding it. He went to a 43 yardas touchdown to press Miami.

The jets almost had a touchdown in a field pass to Garrett Wilson. However, Wilson was called for offensive pass interference and denied the score. New York had to settle for the field goal.

Wilson later compensated for him at night with an incredible capture and almost being kept in the limits.

But they were frustrating scenes for jets throughout the night.

New York committed 13 penalties for 101 yards along with three ball losses. Those sanctions finally destroyed any impulse that would accumulate the offensive.

Fields was 20 of 27 with 227 aerial yards and the TouchDown passes to Wilson. He also led the team with 81 yards by land.

Wilson ended with six trapped for 82 yards.
