The first five games of the season began, but after going 2-3, chief coach Antonio Pierce was with his support, Aidan O’Connell, for week 6 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Minshew returned from week 8 while the Raiders struggled to build victories. Then, on week 12, Minshew broke a clavicle that knocked him out for the rest of the season, leaving the duties of a field marshal in the hands of O’Connell.

Minshew finished the year 2-8 in the 10 games he played, passing for 2,013 yards with nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

However, Minshew has had better seasons in the past, including one year of Pro Bowl with the Indianapolis Colts in 2023. It was 7-6 in its 13 openings instead of the rookie Anthony Richardson, launching for a maximum of 3,305 yards with 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

For his six-year career, which began as a selection of sixth round of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2019, Minshew has 17-29 about its 46 openings with 11,950 aerial yards, 68 Touchdowns and 34 interceptions.

Last season, Carson Wentz, former field marshal of the Filadelphia franchise Eagles, supported Mohamses in Kansas City. The year before that, it was Chad Henne.

The Chiefs expect Minshew not to have to enter an initial role, since it would mean that Mohamses would be dealing with an injury.
