SAN FRANCISCO – Cam Skattebo became a cult hero in the tri-state area, catapulting himself to become the New York Giants’ top running back.
Skattebo found the end zone seven times in as many games, but early in the eighth he suffered a serious injury that required emergency surgery. The runner suffered torn ligaments when dislocating his ankle, which caused a compound wound and repetitions not suitable for television.
February 19 will mark four months since the injury, but Skattebo, without any braces on the radio line, is ready to be a normal soccer player again.

“I feel good. I’m recovering, a couple of months out, so I’m starting to put it in the past, get through the hard part and get back to work,” Skattebo told Pak Gazette Digital.
Unfortunately, numerous players have suffered injuries similar to Skattebo’s, but it was San Francisco 49ers star Fred Warner who Skattebo sought out for advice. Warner suffered a serious injury just a week before Skattebo.

“I talked to him a couple of times about what he’s doing and how he’s doing things. You know, he obviously came back pretty quickly and my situation was different,” Skattebo said. “We finished the season and had no hope of playoffs.
“So the way he pushed himself, I wanted to do the same thing, you know, even though I didn’t have a season to look forward to, I still wanted to be in the same situation. So he’s been a big asset to me.”

Tyrone Tracy filled in quite well after Skattebo was injured, so the G-Men will definitely have a two-headed monster next season.
