New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo said rookies are built differently these days, but he wasn’t talking about their play on the field. He was referring to their attitudes.
Skattebo, who just finished his rookie season, said players coming out of college think they are “hot shits” because they enter the NFL after having made a substantial amount of money through NIL in college.
“The rookies coming in have made $2 million to $3 million in college, like they think they’re good s—,” Skattebo said during a recent appearance on the “Roommates Show.”
“There could be a veteran who’s been in the league for three or four years, and this rookie could have come out of college and made more money than him.”

Skattebo said he wasn’t talking about any of the Giants’ rookies, but he has seen money-making rookies enter the NFL with a sense of entitlement.
“You can tell by the way these college kids are acting now,” Skattebo said. “There are some people who act well, others don’t care that there was ever a rookie situation.”

Skattebo said veterans say rookies don’t listen compared to years ago. The 23-year-old said he was a “good rook” and did as he was asked.
“I have rookie duties because I’m a rookie, and I’m not going to sit there and say, ‘No, fuck you.’ If my vets tell me to go get some snacks for the running back room for weeks and weeks, I’m going to go get them,” Skattebo said.
“Some rookies will tell you something like, ‘Bro, I’m not going to bring you snacks, bro. You can go get your own snacks.’ I’m not going to name names, but there are some rookies that do that.”
