“I have made people say: ‘Jerry, you undergo so many criticisms. You need a shock absorber.’ I don’t like it, I like pain.”
Jones has served as general manager of the team since he bought the franchise in 1989. The Cowboys had a significant success at the beginning of his mandate, the Super Bowl XXVII (1992), the Super Bowl XXVIII (1993) and the Super Bowl XXX (1995).
However, since that dominant career at the beginning and mid -1990s, the cowboys have not enjoyed the same level of success. The last time they arrived at the NFC championship game was in the 1995 season, the year the Super Bowl won.

The drought of the Cowboys 30 -Years Conference Championship is the fourth longest active drought in the NFL.
Last season, the cowboys finished 7-10 and the playoffs were lost when the Dak Prescott field marshal was limited to eight games with an injury to the hamstrings. They arrived at the playoffs in 2023 but lost 48-32 against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Commodines Round.
Jones is currently under fire of the Cowboys fans base after Star Edge Rusher Micah Parsons requested an exchange a couple of weeks ago. Fans have sung “Pay Micah” in Jones throughout the training camp.

The cowboys open their season on September 4 against the rival of the division and the defending champion of the Super Bowl, Philadelphia Eagles. Jones said he wasn’t sure Parsons would play in the game.
Parsons has been “stopping” at the Cowboys training camp, attending meetings and practices but not participating in the field.
If Parsons does not play in week 1, or if his desire is granted and changes, Jones will undoubtedly feel the pain of a fan base.
