The 2026 FIFA World Cup is just under a year away, and Los Angeles Chargers chief coach Jim Harbaugh, he is already looking forward to arriving.

There are 16 stadiums in 16 different host cities, and one of them is Sofi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The Chargers play their games at home at the Sofi stadium, and Harbaugh said he is waiting for the “atmosphere” that the tournament will bring.

“I am looking forward to the atmosphere, I look forward to what I see on television. It brings together people, they display that ball, that ball is displayed and all cultural barriers are broken,” Harbaugh told Pak Gazette Digital.

“Seeing all the different countries that come to our city, just to imagine what it will be like. Only those meetings, those tens of thousands of people who gather and the way they support their team, because it is when magic occurs. It happens in real time, it happens when the crowd is there and the crowds are in that.”

Harbaugh said he also hopes to see the competition “at the highest level.”

The 61 -year -old coach also looks forward to the impact that the World Cup will have not only in the host city, but also in the country.

“What I look forward to, and will do for our country and our city. I have seen it before, the World Cup in the United States in the 90s. The American ’94 team (male), how sport exploded after that, so I look forward to all those things.”

Last season it was Harbaugh’s first season as chief coach of the Chargers, when he left Michigan after he took them to a victory in the National Championship in the 2023-2024 season.

The Chargers had 11-6 in the first season of Harbaugh to the helm and arrived at the playoffs. They were bouncing in the AFC Commodines Round by the Houston Texans 32-12.

Harbaugh said his team is “back to work” with the aim of winning a Super Bowl in mind.

“There is only a happy team in the NFL, that is the Philadelphia Eagles, just because they won the Super Bowl,” said Harbaugh. “The rest of us are disappointed, and the rest of us are back to work, we are chasing that Super Bowl. To be called World Champions, that is our goal.”
