The Super Bowl champion, Ndamukong Suh, announced his NFL withdrawal on Saturday.
Suh, 38, played for the last time at the NFL during the 2022 season, with the Philadelphia Eagles. The five-time All-re said that he is “honoring” a desire for his late father when he retired.
“On July 12, 2024 it was the most difficult day of my life. It is the day I said goodbye to my father, the man who raised me, gave me shaped, challenged me and believed in me before I believed in me. He was not just a father. He was my idol, my coach and my anchor.

“Before I died, he gave me a last advice, ‘It’s time to let football.
Suh was recruited by the Detroit Lions with General National Team No. 2 in the 2010 NFL Draft. The defensive Tackle made the Pro Bowl in four of its five seasons with the lions.

Suh played five seasons with the Lions, three with the Miami Dolphins, one with the Los Angeles Rams, three with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their last season with the Eagles.
Suh was a member of the Buccaneers team that won the Super Bowl 2020. In the team’s playoff career, Suh told 10 combined cups and 1.5 captures.

In 199 regular seasonal games of his career, Suh registered 600 tacle combined, 71.5 captures, an interception, five forced loose balls and three touchdowns of recovery of a loose ball ball.
Suh wrote that he has been preparing for retirement for “years.”
“Football was my passion, but it was never my game ending,” Suh wrote.
