The Carolina Panthers will have a fun training camp project after their last announcement on Monday.
Colin Granger, a former basketball player of Division 1 for the University of Ohio, Carolina Occidental and the Carolina coast, will try to become a closed wing of the NFL.
The Granger of 6 feet 8 inches and 245 pounds was announced as a signatory for the Panthers, since he is removed five years of high school and is allowed to join a team as a free agent.

Granger was a center during his university career, he played two seasons at the University of Ohio, two seasons in western Carolina and ended in Carolina Coastal.
He was a 52.3% shooter of the field during his career, while transporting 322 total rebounds with the three different programs. He had 137 rebounds in Carolina Coastal to limit an impressive career.

Now, Panthers Brass has history with the conversion of former basketball players into NFL caliber pieces, such as chief coach Dave Canales and General Manager Dan Morgan did it with George Fant with the Seattle Seahawks.
Fant, which is in 6 feet 5 inches, 315 pounds, played basketball in western Kentucky, and became an offensive Tackle and wing wing. He ended up playing seven total seasons with Seattle, the New York Jets and Houston Texans.

ESPN reports that Fant has been working with Granger to prepare him for the transition, and he was the one who told Panthers about his potential.
However, Granger has not been in a soccer field since the eighth grade, so the transition is not expected to be easy.
But, of course, this is not new, especially in the position of the closed wing. Think of Antonio Gates, Jimmy Graham and the Great Tony González, who were former basketball players before seeing success tons in the NFL.

Granger will compete with a series of wings closed in the Panthers training camp this summer, including Tommy Ash and Ja’tavion Sanders.
