The Tennessee Titans announced that the veteran corridor of Edge Lorenzo Carter informed the team that will retire on Tuesday, only one day before the training camp began on Wednesday.
Carter, 29, signed a one -year contract with the Titans during free agency before the 2025 season.
“He notified us yesterday that he will retire,” said the general manager of the Titans, Mile Borgonzi, in the announcement, “so we wish him the best.”

Carter played at the NFL for seven seasons after the New York giants selected him in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Georgia.
The edge corridor spent the first four seasons with the giants before joining his hometown, Atlanta Falcons for the last three seasons of his career.
Carter began 62 of his 96 career games in the NFL. He only started two of his 15 games in his rookie year, but after that he became a regular headline with the giants.

In four seasons with the giants, Carter had 153 tacle combined, 14.5 captures, an interception, 15 defeated passes, five forced loose balls and four recoveries of a loose ball.
After its four -year period with the giants, Carter signed a one -year contract and $ 3.5 million with the Falcons. Carter began the 17 games that season and made it a two -year contract and $ 9 million the following season.

Last season, Carter began 11 of the 13 games in which he played and had 32 tacle combined and without captures for the Falcons.
Without Carter, the Titans have seven edge runners on their list: Arden Key, Dre’mont Jones, Femi Oladejo, Jaylen Harrell, Ali Gaye, Titus Leo and Desmond Evans.
