Nine years after Mitchell Van Vooren announced a selection of the Miami Dolphins in the 2016 NFL draft, he hopes to listen to his own name called at some point before the final selection in this year’s draft was held on Saturday.
Van Vooren announced the closed wing of UCLA, Thomas Duarte, such as the selection of the seventh round of the Dolphins in 2016. Now almost a decade later, Van Vooren is in the NFL 2025 draft as a closed wing.
However, Van Vooren did not play football throughout his university career, since he began as an athletic star.

Before Van Vooren was transferred to St. Norbert to play football, he received four university cards from Marquette on the track. He described for the west regional division I of the NCAA in the 400 -meter obstacles and broke the school record with a time of 51.38 seconds.
It was 18 in the quarterfinals of the NCAA West with a time of 51.75 seconds.

After the track in Marquette, Van Vooren played football for two seasons in St. Norbert. More than 22 games, caught 65 passes for 1,045 yards with 13 touchdowns.
Despite having played only those 22 university games, the success of Van Vooren in the field earned him training with the Green Bay Packers and the Cleveland Browns, according to the NFL network.

“Whether they write me or sign as a free agent, the goal is just to set foot on the door,” said Van Vooren through Marquette today.
To add to what would already be an incredible story, Van Vooren grew in Marinette, Wisconsin, one hour away from where the NFL draft is carried out in Lambeau Field, and where his name could be called.
