NFL schedule launch: 49ers, Santos, Patriots have easier trays in 2025

The NFL launched the 2025 calendar for the 32 teams on Wednesday night, and some teams have a lighter schedule than others.

The League does not have a balanced schedule, so some squads will see more difficult or easier times, regardless of how they did last season.

Trying to predict the strength of a schedule is an inaccurate science because the teams change a lot from one season to another, either in the free agency, the NFL draft or the changes in the main office and the coaching staff.

However, Washington commanders entered last season with the second easiest time and had a strong 12-5 season, with an appearance in the NFC championship game.

Here are the three teams whose 2025 opponents have the percentage of lower combined victories of the 2024 season.

San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers had a year off last season, going 6-11 after previously representing the NFC at the Super Bowl LVIII. The team schedule this year could be the first step to return to the playoffs.

San Francisco’s opponents had a percentage of combined victories of .415 in 2024.

The 49ers only play four games against teams that arrived at the playoffs last season, with two of those games against their division rival, Los Angeles Rams.

The following is the 49ers schedule:

  • Week 1 – Away vs. Seattle Seahawks
  • Week 2 – Away vs. New Orleans Saints
  • Week 3 – Home vs. Arizona Cardinals
  • Week 4 – Start against Jacksonville Jaguars
  • Week 5 – Away vs. Los Angeles Rams

  • Week 14 – Goodbye
  • Week 15 – Home vs. Tennessee Titans
  • Week 16 – Away vs. Indianapolis Colts
  • Week 17 – Home vs. Chicago Bears

Santos de New Orleans

The Saints have the second time easier, with the percentage of combined victories of their opponents last season in .419.

New Orleans comes from a 5-12 season, and with the recent surprise retirement of the Derek Carr Campal Marshal, the team may need an easy schedule to sneak into the playoffs this year.

New England’s opponents 2025 had a combined victories of .429 in 2024. The AFC East will play the NFC South and AFC North this season, which had three team combined playoffs last season.
