NHA establishes control room after recent floods


Islamabad:

In response to recent heavy rains and emergencies related to floods in various parts of the country, the National Highway Authority (NHA) has issued a maximum alert and has established a central control room in its headquarters here.

The president of the NHA, Sheheryar Sultan, instructed all relevant members, general managers, project directors and field personnel so that they remain completely alert with the machinery and equipment necessary in locations affected by floods.

Orders have been granted to engineers, officers and worried personnel so that they are present in the areas affected by floods at all times to carry out aid operations and restore all types of traffic so that the restoration works in the affected areas can be completed in time.

Emergency response equipment has been deployed in flood affected areas and maintain real -time communication with the NHA control room to inform soil conditions and provide operational updates. President Sultan also ordered NHA officials to guarantee timely and precise public information through social networks, FM radio and television channels.
