The San Francisco 49ers will be without the Defensive Ala Estrella Nick Bosa for the rest of the 2025 season after their LCA broke during Sunday’s victory over the Arizona cardinals.
Bosa’s tear was clean and will require surgery that ends the season, according to ESPN. A long recovery is expected to begin with the hope of returning at the beginning of the 2026 campaign.
Unfortunately for Bosa, it is no stranger to this injury. He also broke his ACL in week 2 of season 2020 against New York Jets and the ligament was partially broken in high school in 2015.
The injury occurred at the end of the first quarter of San Francisco’s victory 16-15 over his NFC West rival. Bosa walked to the costumes with approximately a remaining minute in the period and did not return. Chief coach Kyle Shanahan said that the initial tests of the lateral line did not indicate a breakage of LCA, although he warned that it was possible for a serious injury to be possible.

The seven -year -old veteran had started the strong season, registering two catches, four cups for loss and two loose balls forced in three games.
“Every time you lose a guy like Nick and his condition he is unknown, he is a real Buzzkill,” said the left Tank All-Pro Trent Williams to ESPN. “It’s a cliché to say that the next man, but when you lose such a boy, you need three or four types to fill those shoes.”
San Francisco will now resort to its depth, with the rookie Mykel Williams, Bryce Huff, Yetur Gross-Matos and Sam Okuayinonu expected to take a step forward in the absence of Bosa.

The injury problems of the 49ers continue to accumulate, since the stars on the offensive side, the wing closed George Kittle and the field marshal Brock Purdy, are also with their own respective ailments. However, they are not expected to finish the season as Bosa.
