Do not get illusions that Nick Saban returns to university football.
The rumors about the possible return of the legendary coach began earlier this week after the former Alabama field marshal, Greg Mcelroy, said in his radio program that he told him a source Saban May returns in the future.
Mcelroy acknowledged that he did not believe it was true.
Days later, Saban’s daughter, Kristen, posted in her history of Instagram a photo of her father walking towards the field, subtitling it: “Damn, this is strange.”

With the moment, fans thought it was an omen of a great announcement.
It wasn’t.
“Apparently, some of you feel trolled by my last story of Nick’s strike … will not train again, they hate that you break it,” Kristen said in another publication about his story, through the New York Post. “You had your time.”
Saban surprisingly retired after the university season 2023-24, which ended in a defeat in the Rose Bowl against the eventual national champion Michigan Wolverines. And the paid panorama for game in which university sports has become seems to have played some role in their decision, even if he has denied it in past interviews.

“All the things I have believed during all these years, 50 years of coaching, no longer exist in university athletics“Saban said shortly after retiring.” It was always about developing players, it was always about helping people have more success in life.
“My wife even told me: we have all the recruits on Sunday with their parents for breakfast. He always met with the mothers and talked about how he was going to help impact his children and how they would be well taken care of. She came to me just before retiring and say:” Why are we doing this? “I said: ‘What do you mean?’ She said: ‘Everything that matters to them is how much they will pay them.
“For me, that was a red alert that we are really creating a circumstance here that is not beneficial for young people, so I always did what I did. My father did it, I did it. So, that is the reason why I always like university athletics than NFL, because he had the opportunity to develop young people.”

Since then, Saban has joined the “Gameday” of ESPN and has fought in Capitol Hill to regulate the agreements of name, image and likeness (NIL).
He won seven national championships, the eldest of all for a main university football coach, one with LSU and six in Tuscaloosa.
