Nine dead in Chakwal Road Mishap

A passenger bus overturned on Sunday on the M-2 highway in Chakwal, which resulted in the death of nine passengers and injuries to others 31. The bus took more than 40 passengers. The tragic incident took place near the exchange of Balkasar in the Dhoke Sial area.

According to eyewitnesses, the passenger bus-registration number JA-6871-who travels from Islamabad to Lahore found an accident after one of his tisre exploded due to speeding.

The accident was so severe that eight passengers died on the spot and another 31 suffered serious injuries. One of the injured then succumbed to the wounds while moving to the hospital, raising the death toll to nine.

Upon receiving the emergency call, the 1122 rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene, provided first aid to the injured and transferred them to the nearby hospitals.

According to rescue officials, the accident was caused by speeding, negligence and carelessness by the driver.

Chakwal police also arrived at the site shortly after the accident. According to the police spokesman, the injured included 17 men and 14 women. Among the deceased were two men, four women, an 8 -year -old boy, a 2 -year -old girl and an 8 -month -old girl.

Rescue 1122 Chakwal teams changed all the injured people and the deceased to the Hospital of the Headquarters of the district of Chakwal (DHQ) and to the Kallar Kahar trauma center.

Chakwal’s attached commissioner, Mrs. Sarah Hayat, and the district police officer (DPO) (RETD) Ahmad Mohiuddin visited the hospital to investigate after the injured.

The DC instructed the hospital staff to guarantee the best possible medical treatment. According to police spokesman Dpo Mohiuddin has formed a special team to arrest the bus driver. Legal procedures are ongoing, and the police have initiated a formal investigation into the incident.
