The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday said 9 terrorists were killed in two separate Intelligence Based Operations (IBOs) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
He said an IBO was carried out in Tank in view of the reported presence of terrorists. “During the performance of [the] In the operation, our own troops effectively attacked the location of the khawarij, and after an intense exchange of fire, seven khawarij were sent to hell,” the statement read.
In a separate IBO held in Lakki Marwat, “security forces effectively neutralized two more khawarij.”
“Sanitation operations are being carried out to remove any other Indian-sponsored kharji found in the area,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday praised security forces for successful operations against India-backed Fitna-al-Khwarij in Tank and Lakki Marwat districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
The President appreciated the timely and effective action of the security forces that resulted in the killing of Khwarij, the Press Wing of the President’s Secretariat said in a press release.
Paying tribute to the sacrifices of the Shuhada and the Ghazis, he reiterated that the resolve of the nation and the security forces will remain firm until the complete elimination of this menace.
The President praised the morale of the forces for thwarting the nefarious designs of the Fitna-al-Khwarij operating under Indian patronage.
The Prime Minister praised the security forces for eliminating 9 terrorists belonging to Fitna-al-Khwarij in these operations.
In the view of Azm-e-Istehkam, the security forces were achieving great successes in the fight against terrorism, he added.
“The entire nation stands with Pakistan’s armed forces in this war against terrorism,” the prime minister said in a press release quoted by the media wing of the prime minister’s office.
He also expressed determination to completely eradicate all forms of terrorism from the country.
