The security forces have killed at least nine terrorists sponsored by the Indians in three separate operations carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the army’s media wing said on Sunday.

According to a statement issued by Public Relations between Services (ISPR), the Security Forces in the District of Dera Ismail Khan carried out an operation based on intelligence in the reported presence of terrorists sponsored by India.

“During the performance of the operation, the troops themselves effectively compromised the khwarij [terrorists] Location, and after an intense fire exchange, four khwarij sponsored by the Indians were sent to hell, ”said the statement.

Another intelligence -based operation was carried out in the tanks district and in the exchange of fires that followed, two terrorists more sponsored by the Indians were killed.

In the third meeting that took place in the general area of Bagh, Khyber district, the troops successfully neutralized three more terrorists, the ISPR said.

Weapons and ammunition also recovered from dead terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in these areas.

Disinfection operations were carried out to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area, such as Pakistan security forces “are determined to eliminate the threat of terrorism sponsored by the country of the country,” said the statement.

Pakistan has witnessed an increase in terrorist incidents since the Taliban rulers returned to Afghanistan in 2021, particularly in the border provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan.

However, the first quarter of 2025 saw some promising tendencies in the Pakistan security scene, with the deaths of militants and insurgents exceeding in number the cumulative losses of civilians and the personnel of the security forces.

Its key findings, issued by the Center for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) revealed significantly less fatal losses between civilians and security forces compared to the fourth quarter (fourth quarter) of 2024 and a reduction of almost 13% in general violence, the news reported.

Despite progress, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan remain epicentres of violence, representing 98% of all deaths, with attacks that grow bolder tactics and militants that evolve, including unprecedented kidnapping of the Express Jaffar.

The projections warn about more than 3,600 deaths.

Individually, Baluchistan suffered 35% of all deaths in the period under review, and compared to the last quarter, recorded an alarming 15% increase in violence. The comparison ignores the increase registered in other provinces/ regions, since the number of deaths remains very low.
