- Ninkar Mbox 8 Pro offers performance but with unconventional design options
- Magnetic Hard Dipe Bay raises concerns about heat management
- High -end specifications meet unconventional storage in this single mini pc
The Mbox 8 Pro ninkar is a MINI MODULAR PC with a removable coupling station for a 3.5 -inch hard drive, which offers expandable storage but raising concerns about its practicality, especially compared to the best portable SSD.
According to Androidpc (originally in Spanish), the Mbox 8 Pro design includes a magnetic external hard drive bay with four USB ports, which integrate a traditional hard drive instead of depending solely on SSD’s internal storage that adapts to the best video editing computers.
However, hard drives generate heat and are more prone to mechanical failure than SSDs, so placing one on an enclosed and magnetically united base can affect thermal management, which makes their integration into a mini PC is debatable.
A bold storage experiment
The Mbox 8 Pro highlights for its ability to drive three 8K monitors through HDMI 2.1, Displayport 1.4 and USB4 Type-C, with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and Dual Gigabit Ethernet.
It has an AMD Ryzen 7 8845hs processor of 4NM, an eight -core APU with 38 tops AI acceleration, paired with up to 32 GB DDR5 RAM and a 1TB SSD NVME SSD.
Combined with the radeon 780m IGPU, this mini PC offers a performance that rivals some desks, handling demanding applications and even 1080p games easily.
With a price of around € 586, the Mbox 8 ninkar provides a unique version of the MINI PC Market, although its unconventional design options may not adapt to all, particularly those that depend on SSD for speed and stability in PC workflows editing videos and photos.
