- The company has identified more than 100 games with starting problems.
- The vast majority should still work without problems in the new system
The Nintendo Switch 2 company that could have compatibility problems in the launch has been updated by the company.
Nintendo’s compatibility page has three PDF links. These highlights of 115 “with starting problems in Nintendo Switch 2,” 46 games that start successfully but can have some compatibility problems, and finally 49 games that have problems “planned to address themselves in the launch or shortly after.”
In addition, Nintendo has highlighted the software that cannot be used directly in Nintendo Switch 2. These include Nintendo Labo toy-with 04: Vr Kit, as well as video applications that include Crunchyroll, Niconico, Abema and Hulu. Comics and the Inkypen manga application will also be unusable. It remains to be seen if these applications will receive versions of Switch 2 dedicated in the future.
Finally, a lot of original Nintendo Switch games will require the use of the Joy-Con controllers of that console, and presumably will not be compatible with the joy-with 2. These are the following:
- Fit Ring Fit adventure
- 1-2 switch
- All 1-2 switch!
- GAME GARAGE GARAGE
- Nintendo Switch Sports
- WARIOWARE: Move it!
- Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 01: variety kit
- Nintendo Labo toy-with 02: Robot Kit
- Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 03: Vehicle Kit
Until now, Nintendo has tested more than 15,000 Nintendo Switch games for Nintendo Switch 2. The vast majority, about 99% of Nintendo games and 65% of third -party games, have no compatibility problems.
For everything else, problems are at least being investigated by Nintendo, and it should be fair to expect most Switch 1 games to work well on Switch 2 at the end of 2025.
