- Nintendo is increasing the price of the original switch, the OLED switch and the change of Lite in Canada
- Accessories, physical and digital games, and online memberships will also be affected, but the cost of switch 2 will continue to be the same
- Nintendo explains that the price update is “based on market conditions”
Nintendo has announced that the prices of some of its products in Canada will increase.
As reported by IGN, the company said that a “price update” will be implemented soon in Canada for certain Nintendo products, namely the original switch, the Switch Oled and the Switch Lite.
In particular, the cost of the new Nintendo Switch 2, which was launched at the beginning of last month, will not be affected and prices will remain the same.
He also confirmed that the physical and digital games will be affected, which will probably affect Switch 2 owners, since most games are compatible backwards, as well as accessories, and Nintendo change online memberships.
Regarding the reason for the sudden price increase, Nintendo explained that the price settings are “based on market conditions”, but did not offer more details.
Nintendo de Canada issued an advice warning that declared that the full details of tight prices will be revealed later today (July 1), which will be reflected in the official Nintendo Canada store.
We cannot say with certainty how much each product will increase, but we will keep it updated.
Switch 2’s early orders were delayed in Canada in April, after delays in the United States, which were made so that Nintendo could evaluate the impact of the rates imposed by the Trump administration.
