- The Nintendo Switch 2 will use the Nvidia DLSS AI scale increase for your games for better image performance and quality
- Until now, handp games only have FSR of AMD E XESS DE INTEL
- The Switch 2 could see itself compete with other hand horses thanks to DLSS
The Nintendo Switch 2 finally revealed itself completely on April 2, with the confirmation that the portable console will use a personalized NVIDIA processor, and although the device may not overcome PC for portable games, it could have a significant bonus on them.
As stood out in a blog post, Nvidia confirmed that its food scale method with DLSS will be present at the Nintendo Switch 2, along with the lightning layout, thanks to its custom chip. This will allow games developers to implement DLS in games when necessary, creating space for better performance through improvement while the image quality is maintained.
It is not exactly clear which version of DLSS will be this: its latest version, DLSS 4, uses a new transformer model to further improve the image quality, especially with the mode of performance, which has been shown to exceed the quality mode of the previous model in DLSS 3.
However, PC for portable games have only been able to use INTL FSR or Xess, since Nvidia has not made an APU (a CPU and GPU processor in the same given) for any of the devices such as the Asus Rog Ally or MSI Claw 8 AI+. Both rival extension methods have not yet coincided with DLSS, and if Switch 2 is using DLSS 4, it could challenge the most powerful hand games PC when it comes to graphics and performance.
It will not exceed the PC for hand games, but it is about to compete
Do not be misunderstood, the PC for hand games such as the Ally Asus Rog, MSI Claw 8 AI+, and the Lenovo Legion Go remain an easy option about the Switch 2, since it is very likely that they still have more powerful hardware (since we still do not know the exact specifications of the Nvidia chip).
However, Yeah The new Nintendo use DLSS 4 console could be a literal game change that places switch 2 in the Pole position to compete against others by hand, thanks to the new transformer model. Take the climbing image quality at another level, as I have highlighted above and I have already been a great benefit for all GPU users of GeForce RTX: the image quality in the CNN model performance mode was blurred and contained ghosts when it is in motion, and the transformer model fixes it.
Despite the slight loss of performance in the games with this new model (due to its most intensive processing nature for a higher image quality), it is not significant enough not to recommend DLSS 4, and it is better than the FSR 4 of Xess 2 of Intel and AMD, since it maintains a much better detail in the objects, particularly at longer distances in the games.
I have red to Nvidia to do a PC for hand games to use DLSS, and this gives me the hope that Switch 2 will make it possible.
We will have to wait and see how DLSS will work (especially in the docked mode in a 4K resolution), but if the change of 2 brands in a new generation of hand of PC games with Nvidia hardware, then I will be extremely happy.
