NLC and DP World send 1,000 containers to Bangladesh

RAWALPINDI:

National Logistics Corporation (NLC) and DP World have shipped more than 1,000 containers between Pakistan and Bangladesh since launching the first direct shipping route between the two countries in October, a strategic initiative that will significantly strengthen trade and regional connectivity in the south from Asia.

The container service between Karachi and Jabel Ali will begin with the first NLC vessel with a capacity of 1,100 TEU on January 13, while the second vessel of similar capacity will join at the end of January.

Additionally, an edible oil vessel is scheduled to arrive in February 2025, further diversifying the scope of this collaborative effort.

This strategic undertaking means the beginning of a transformative phase in regional trade, according to a statement.

“The collaboration between the NLC and regional partners is not simply a logistical operation but a cornerstone of a comprehensive roadmap aimed at strengthening economic growth, promoting shared prosperity and accelerating progress across the region,” he added.
