No leader should be behind bars, says Fazl

Islamabad:

The chief of Jamiat Ulema-E-Islam (JUI-F), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has said that keeping Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) imran Khan after bars “was not fine” and urged to imprison the leaders of any political party during the war situation.

In statements to journalists, Fazl said that Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) was a political party, and like the government, he also claimed to be fighting for the interests of the country.

Fazl was asked if he would play any role in advice or facilitate dialogue with PTI, given that the party continues to criticize the Government in the midst of what he described as a war situation.

“Its leader is in jail. Many of their workers are also imprisoned. They feel that if they come out [of jail]The country would benefit, “he added, explaining that this is part of the position of the party.

“In addition, the matter is before the courts. I am a political person,” said the Chief of Jui-F.

Fazl reiterated that imprisoned political leaders are not appropriate in a democratic configuration.

He also vehemently denounced the United States and other world world powers for his silence in Israel’s brutal campaign in Gaza.

“The United States has not clarified its position. When the great powers do not, it clearly encourages state terrorism,” Fazl said.

“The United States supported Israel. He remained silent about the massacre of 60,000 people,” he added.

“If you consider the actions of justified Israel, why did you press to hang Saddam Hussein or incite the rebellion against Muammar Gaddafi?” He asked rhetorically.

Fazl said that the United States only pursues its own interests and has nothing to do with humanity.

He continued to emphasize that those fighting in the frontline lines devise their own war strategies and dismissed the concerns of climbing to the nuclear conflict.
