– It is expected to pick up the events of season 2.
In fact, everyone wants Nobody wants this season 3 and, although it’s a bit complicated, we can reveal that the hit Netflix comedy will return later this year. Already?! That’s how it is. It’s quickly become one of those shows that gives us an annual release and we’re not really mad about it.
As one of the best Netflix shows on one of the best streaming services, we’ve watched for two seasons as Joanne and Noah navigate the ups and downs of a relationship, trying to commit to faith and learning what it’s like. In fact important to talk about it.
So, as the show returns for another season, here’s everything we know so far, from the expected release date to who from the cast will be returning, plot rumors, and more.
Nobody Wants This Season 3 Release Date Prediction
Immediately after season 2, Nobody wants this The third season is already on the way, and will arrive at the end of this year. Kristen Bell broke the news of the renewal to her castmates on November 4 (shown above), less than two weeks after Season 2 premiered on Netflix.
In a statement to Tudum, the show’s creator, Erin Foster, said, “I couldn’t be more excited to start a third season of this show. It’s a privilege to be able to write about my favorite couple on a scale like this. As long as it doesn’t take up too much of my time watching reality TV at night, I’ll do it for as long as they want!”
And when it comes to a release date, Tudum has already revealed that season 3 will hit the streamer later this year, although there’s no specific release date yet.
We got season 1 in September 2024, season 2 in October 2025, so I predict we’ll be looking for season 3 around the same time of year. But watch this space!
Nobody wants this season 3 trailer
there is no Nobody wants this The trailer for season 3 has yet to be shared, but that’s not really surprising given that we don’t have a release date either.
The trailer for season 2 was released, in true Netflix style, about a month before it hit the streamer. So while we will have season 3 in 2026, we will have a trailer before that. I’ll update here as soon as it arrives.
Nobody wants this season 3 cast
While the Nobody wants this The season 3 cast has not been fully confirmed, some cast members appear in Kristen’s season 3 renewal video, and we would predict that the rest of the main cast will return as well:
- Kristen Bell as Joanne
- Adam Brody as Noah
- Justine Lupe as Morgan
- Timothy Simons as Sasha
- Jackie Tohn as Esther
- Michael Hitchcock as Henry
- Stephanie Faracy as Lynne
- Paul Ben-Victor as Ilan
- Tovah Feldshuh as Bina
In terms of recurring and guest stars, there is no official word on whether they might return. Take Brody’s real-life wife, Leighton Meester, who played Abby, for example, although there doesn’t seem to be much of a reason with the way Season 2 ended for her to return, but you never know.
There are also recurring stars like D’Arcy Carden as Ryann, Sherry Cola as Ashley, Stephen Tobolowsky as Rabbi Cohen (or Big Noah) or Seth Rogen as Rabbi Neil that we may also see again. But we’ll keep our eyes and ears open for any confirmation.
Nobody Wants This Season 3 Story Synopsis
Full spoilers for Nobody wants this Seasons 1 and 2 will follow. Also, possible spoilers for season 3.
While we don’t have an official plot synopsis for Nobody wants this season 3, we can take a look at how season 2 played out to get a good idea of what could happen next.
We entered season 2 without Joanne feeling ready to convert to Judaism, and for the most part, it seemed like we were going to leave the season in exactly the same position. But then Joanne finally made a decision after a very brief (and stressful) breakup with Noah revealed to her what she really wanted in life. And fortunately, it was him.
But before we could catch our breath from the titular couple’s turmoil, another big decision was made. This time for Esther. After a possible pregnancy, Esther reevaluated her relationship with Sasha, somewhat shaken since season 2 by her friendship with Joanne’s sister Morgan, and ultimately decided to separate from him to learn more about herself.
And so, no doubt, we will witness both the journey that Joanne is about to embark on, fully committing to her relationship with Noah, while Esther navigates taking a step back in hers with Sasha.
Adam Brody, speaking to Parade, hopes that in season 3 Joanne and Noah will finally take the next step in their relationship, whether that’s moving in together or getting engaged, he says “relatively soon.” And he added: “I think if I could step on the accelerator, the pedal in another area, it would be good.”
And hopefully these grand gestures from Noah will be reciprocated so Joanne will potentially, hopefully, commit to converting to Judaism, as Deadline explains.
Season 2 left us with questions about what big moments will happen next for these couples, and also what Morgan’s next return to the dating scene will look like after her breakup with Dr. Andy.
Luckily, speaking with Elle, showrunner Jenni Konner revealed that there’s plenty of opportunity for this in season 3: “We have a lot of stories that we still want to tell. We want to continue to explore the characters that we haven’t really explored, and I think that’s going to be a lot of fun… and it would answer a lot of questions that you could end season 2 with.”
Will there be more seasons of Nobody Wants This?
Nobody wants this has received quick renewals and great performance stats on Netflix, but as far as season 4 is concerned, there is no news yet. As has been the case, it will apparently depend on how season 3 plays out on the streamer and until it arrives sometime in 2026, we won’t know what it will look like.
Season 2 held the number one spot on Netflix’s English TV chart for two weeks in a row with 18 million views in its first 11 days, according to Tudum. With great love for the show, we would be surprised if it didn’t continue running. But it depends on what happens in season 3, so we’ll keep our ears peeled.
