Noor Zaman of Pakistan has qualified for the main raffle of the British Squash Open championship, continuing its strong performance in the professional circuit.
The current Squash Sub-23 world champion assured his place in the prestigious Tournament of England after defeating Kareem El Torey of Egypt 11-5, 11-8, 3-11, 11-7 in a 46-minute classification final.
Previously, Zaman defeated the will of England 3-1 (10-12, 11-2, 11-5, 11-3) in 42 minutes, followed by an exciting 3-1 victory over Adrian Waller (9-11, 11-6, 11-7, 14-12) in a 59-minute match.
Zaman, sown tenth in the qualifiers, is the first Pakistani player to reach the main round of the British Open since 2022.
He will face Curtis Malik in England in the first round on Sunday.
Tayyab Aslam was the last Pakistani to compete in the main raffle in 2022.
Pakistan has the record of the most British titles of the open, 30 in total, including 10 won by the legendary Jahangir Khan.
Zaman’s consistent actions underline their growing prominence in the International Squash.
