NordvPN has just taken an important step to its transition after the as much as, extending the support for safe encryption in all its applications.

Already qualified as the best VPN service in the market by Techradar reviewers, NordvPN joins a handful of VPN suppliers that also include safe quantum cryptography in its software.
Why and how to use Nordvpn encryption after quantum
As the quantum computing progresses, Nordvpn’s CTO, Marijus Briedis, he explains, the RSA -based kept exchange encryption methods that most VPN protocols use today will become vulnerable.
Experts predict, in fact, that traditional encryption will soon break through the capacity of quantum computers to perform calculations that machines cannot handle, in a matter of minutes.

Last August, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) launched the first three standards of encryption resistant to the quantum amount to better support software suppliers in their transition. Nordvpn joined the post-quantum revolution a few months after that, adding one of these algorithms (ML-Kem) to its Nordlynx protocol based on Wireguard, which is known for its speed and safety.
“By integrating PQE in our VPN infrastructure, we are taking a proactive step to guarantee long -term confidentiality and resistance for our clients’ data, both now and in the future after quanto,” Briedis said.
As mentioned above, before the last launch, only the Linux VPN application included PQE support.
This choice allowed the NordvPN team to analyze how the new quantum safety algorithm, which was implemented hybridly together with classic encryption methods, could affect performance such as connection speeds and latency.
“The data collected served as a springboard in the transition to the quantity resistant encryption for the rest of our platforms,” Briedis said. “The Linux case showed that we successfully kept the highest level of user experience in terms of time and connection speed during the transition.”
As a result, Nordvpn shot PQE on all its platforms, from Windows and Macos to Android and iOS, even including its Android TV and TVOS applications.
Users must actively enable this additional protection by addressing the connections tab in the application configuration and lighting the lever. The PQE function will be activated automatically when the user connects through the Nordlynx protocol.
What VPN suppliers offer encryption after quanto?
NORDVPN is not the only virtual private network supplier (VPN) that currently includes PQE support in its service.
ExpressvPN added quantum security encryption in its patented light protocol in October 2023, by default through its Android, IOS, Linux, Mac and Windows applications. Last January, the team took a step forward when updating NIST standards.
After being a pioneer in the transition after how much in 2017, Mullvad extended the PQE support for all platforms when he launched the protection after the qantón for iPhone in September 2024. The supplier now also plans to migrate to the new NIST standards.
