Normal water flow in Punjab rivers: PDMA

The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Wednesday reported that the overall flow of water in the province’s rivers remained normal, with only two places in the Sutlej river experiencing low to medium level flooding.

According to the PDMA’s daily river situation report, the Ravi river is flowing normally at all key points.

In Jassar, the water flow was recorded at 20,000 cusecs, while Shahdara reported 22,000 cusecs. At Balloki Headworks, the flow reached 43,000 cusecs and Sidhnai Headworks recorded 46,000 cusecs.

Meanwhile, Sutlej River continues with mid-level flood at Ganda Singh Wala where discharge reached 108,000 cusecs, while low-level flood was recorded at Sulemanki Headworks with discharge of 81,000 cusecs.

The Chenab River also flows within normal limits. At Marala, the water flow was 57,000 cusecs, while Qadirabad recorded 70,000 cusecs and Khanki Headworks recorded a discharge of 75,000 cusecs.

At Trimmu Headworks, the water flow was 9,000 cusecs and Panjnad reported 28,000 cusecs.
