- Norton is adding scam protection directly to his plans
- The tools cover SMS messages, emails, web navigation and more
- Comes for free with Norton plans bought
Norton is adding new artificial intelligence tools to their solutions, to help its customers better protect internet scams.
The antivirus giant has announced Genie Scam Protection and Genie Scam Protection Pro, which says it provides “advanced protection in all the usual scams: text messages, telephone calls, electronic emails and web.”
Norton says that Genie Ai analyzes “the meaning of words, not only links” to detect hidden fraud patterns that even the most trained eye can be lost. Norton’s most complete plan, Norton 360 with Lifelock Ultimate Plus, also offers scam support and refund coverage.
Fighting AI with AI
The company presented Norton Genie in 2023 to help users analyze messages and suspicious images in real time. Now, when building it directly in Norton’s plans, the company wants to build a solution to “establish and forget it” that works proactively to keep the safest people.
Who bought Norton cyber security products on the desk or mobile (including Norton Antivirus Plus, Norton Mobile Security and Norton 360), will obtain the protection of the genie fraud for free.
Depending on the set of features purchased, users can expect AI to help scan SMS messages, websites of the Internet, calls, emails and more. They will also obtain a “scam assistant” with AI, which integrates the Norton Genie Ai application to provide “instant orientation on scams and suspicious offers.”
The tools are available in the US. Now, with other regions that will soon follow.
For Leena Elias, director of gene products, adding to cybersecurity solutions is a logical step, since criminals have been using their attacks for some time.
“The scammers are taking advantage of AI to accelerate their schemes and make them more credible,” Elias said. “Combine that with the large volume of emails, text messages and calls that we receive every day; It is clear that we need technology on our side to help us avoid becoming the next victim of fraud. ”
In the near future, Norton says that he will also integrate the detection of Deepfake and Scam in PC backed by AI.
