MUZAFFARABAD:

Muzaffarabad District Council Chairman Sardar Imtiaz Ahmad Abbasi termed the approval of Nowshera Hydel Power Project as a historic event for the people of Constituency IV and praised the dedicated efforts of Power Development Organization (PDO) Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Rasheed.
He said the Hydel project, which costs Rs. 1.58 billion, would significantly improve the electricity supply not only in the Dachor Meeran Union Council but in the entire constituency.

With the completion of this project, there will be a substantial reduction in load shedding, along with the creation of new employment opportunities.
Speaking to the media, Sardar Imtiaz Ahmad Abbasi revealed that he had proposed this project to the authorities in 2007, during the Muslim Conference government. However, at that time, the then Secretary of Energy had moved it from the public to the private sector, causing a major delay in its execution.
He added that Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Rasheed took personal interest in the project, brought it back into the public sector and brought it to the approval stage, a clear reflection of his leadership qualities and commitment to public service.
Sardar Imtiaz Ahmad Abbasi said that the people of Dachor Meeran Union Council, in particular, would benefit from this project. The end of load shedding would also facilitate educational activities for students in the area.
He further mentioned that the RCC bridge constructed earlier at Ratti Dhhairi was also a blessing for the locals as it provided convenient access to the residents of Kai Manja and Dachor Meeran.
The district council chairman expressed hope that Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Rasheed will continue to meet public expectations regarding educational packages, road construction and other development projects.
He added that thanks to the personal interest of the Minister, the federal approval of the Nowshera Hydel Power Project, after the Haryala Kai Manja Hydroelectric Project and the Pithyali Hydroelectric Project, marks a significant achievement. The completion of these projects will bring significant improvements to the energy sector, create employment opportunities for youth and strengthen the state’s economy.
