The National Security Committee (NSC) authorized on Wednesday to the Armed Forces of Pakistan to take corresponding actions in response to Indian air attacks that went to multiple civil areas.
The NSC statement comes after the coordinated attacks of missiles, air and drones launched by the Indian Armed Forces during the night of May 6 to 7. According to the reports, the attacks attacked multiple locations in Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, including Sialkot, Shakargarh, Muridke, Bahawalpur, Kotli and Muzaffarabad.
The strikes resulted in the death of civilians, including women and children, and damages to civil infrastructure, such as mosques and a hydroelectric energy installation.
“On the night of May 6, 2025, the Indian Armed Forces launched coordinated missile, air and drones attacks in multiple places within the sovereign territory of Pakistan, including Sialkot, Shakargarh, Muridke and Bahawalpur in Punjab, Kotli and Muzaffarab in Azad Jamm and Kashmir.”
“These unjustified and unjustified attacks deliberately attacked civil areas, with the false pretext of the presence of imaginary terrorist camps, which resulted in the martyrdom of innocent men, women and children, and causes damage to civil infrastructure, including mosques,” he added.
The forum also pointed out that the act of aggression of India also caused serious danger to commercial airlines that belong to the gulf fraternal countries, endangering the lives of thousands of passengers on board. In addition, the Neelum-Jhelum hydroelectric project was also deliberately directed in violation of international conventions.
NSC described the attacks “War acts not caused, cowardly and illegal”, and emphasized that the right to respond under article 51 of the UN Charter, which affirms the right of a Member State to the self -defense, is reserved.
The statement added that the Pakistan Air Force had demolished five Indian combat planes and a drone during its defensive operations and reaffirmed the preparation of the nation to respond to other provocations. He also criticized India for endangering international civil aviation and violating international humanitarian norms by attacking civil areas.
“Pakistan has been emphatically rejecting the Indian accusations that claim the presence of terrorist camps in their territory,” the statement added.
The NSC also said that immediately after the April 22 attack, Pakistan made a sincere offer for credible, transparent and neutral investigation, which unfortunately was not accepted. International media staff had already visited these “imaginary terrorist camps” on May 6, 2025, and more visits were planned for May 7, 2025.
However, concerned about his falsity exposed, and without a little evidence about his statements, Indian leadership, devoid of any morality, has now reached the reach of attacking innocent civilians to satisfy his delusional thoughts and myops political objectives, he added.
Asking the international community to take note, the NSC urged global powers to hold India for what it described as a deliberate escalation with possible regional consequences.
