- Acer accidentally listed the RTX 5050 GPUs on some portable game computers
- The spilled details showed the use of energy and the speeds of the clock.
- However, we did not get other specifications, and chat on the RTX 5050 desktop variant has also been silent
Acer has leaked the NVIDIA RTX 5050 mobile GPU, which gives us an idea of some of the key specifications of this graphics card of the laptop.
Not long ago, Nvidia introduced the RTX 5060 models (the 5060 Ti Ti was first), and before they arrived, there were rumors flying over them and the RTX 5050 too.
While RTX 5050 has not been officially announced, we have been seeing numerous leaks in this regard. Videocardz reports that the last filtration comes from Acer, courtesy of a list of GPU specifications for laptops of Predator and Nitro Gaming.
This mentioned an RTX 5050 in many Nitro notebooks, and use the last time there because Acer has captured the error and eliminated the offensive listings, but not before Videocardz took a screenshot as evidence. Other sources have also taken note, so it is likely that this is genuine, even if it still takes it with a grain of salt, as with all rumors.
We can see on this screen that Acer is configured to offer the RTX 5050 in five different power options, ranging from 50 W to 100W, with correspondingly faster clock speeds for each of the 1500mh up to 2550MHz. Keep in mind that there will also be an ‘Acer OC’ impulse (overcloocked) of 15W with these models, which means that the most powerful model can provide 115W in trouble.
Unfortunately, we do not see any species other than the use of energy and watches, which are united in a direct relationship: the faster the clocks are pushed, the more power the GPU will consume.
Analysis: An RTX 5050 laptop is imminent, but what about the desktop model?
The specifications we see here do not give us much idea how powerful the RTX 5050 will be theoretically. That said, the most substantial power over power is quite substantial, but we do not know enough about this mobile GPU to draw definitive conclusions. The key factors will include the nucleus count, which is not revealed, and the type of video memory (VRM) used.
I must point out that in the last front, there were rumors that Nvidia could opt for slower GDDR6, instead of the GDDR7 used in other places with the Blackwell generation. However, the most recent rumors have suggested that Nvidia will remain with GDDR7 (8 GB of this VRM, which is an expected configuration for an entrance level GPU).
In any case, which indicates this apparent Acer error is that the RTX 5050 laptop graphics card could be close to arriving, otherwise it would not appear in the specifications sheets, and this is supported by the fact that we have had many leaks in this GPU recently. In fact, one of them mentioned a planned release date of Q2 for RTX 5050, so a June launch seems to be a different possibility at this time.
In other words, we could be seeing the revelation of the NVIDIA RTX 5050 for laptops in the next week or two. What about the RTX 5050 desktop? Yes, it is rumored that NVIDIA will produce a desktop flavor of this lower level Blackwell GPU, which operates against what happened with the generation of anterior love (there was no RTX 4050 desktop, only a laptop variant).
However, any gossip around the RTX 5050 desktop seems to have dried up, giving me a pause to think if Nvidia could have abandoned that idea, at least for the moment. Or maybe it was never happening first; We never know with rumors.
However, I really hope Nvidia can provide a more affordable desktop GPU for Game Budget PCs this time, but if that will really happen it is something that I have always had doubts. Simply for how Nvidia has neglected the end of the graphics card spectrum budget in recent times.
