- New leak suggests RTX 60 series could arrive in late 2027
- The source is a leak with a solid history.
- Rising RAM prices could delay launch
It finally looks like there could be some good news for PC gamers, as a reliable hardware leak has suggested that Nvidia’s next-generation RTX 60 series graphics cards will launch in the second half of 2027.
While it may still seem like a long wait, it’s pretty much what we expected, as the current generation, the RTX 50 series, launched last year and Nvidia typically waits a few years before releasing entirely new architectures.
If this leak is accurate, it could mean that the new Nvidia RTX 60 series GPUs, such as the RTX 6090, could be released around the same time as the rumored GTA 6 PC port. It would be good timing, as the highly anticipated game will likely be a graphical tour de force and many PC gamers will want to upgrade their rigs with cutting-edge technology.
As Notebookcheck.net reports, hardware leaker ‘kopite7kimi’ posted on
With RAM prices currently skyrocketing, there are concerns that Nvidia may delay the launch of the RTX 60 series until supply issues are resolved. There has been no sign of Nvidia’s mid-gen RTX 50 series ‘Super’ GPUs, which went missing in action at CES 2026, and many people assume that the global memory shortage has forced Nvidia to delay their launch.
If ‘kopite7kimi’s rather cryptic post is accurate, it suggests that fears that Nvidia may delay its next-generation GPUs are (at least for the moment) unfounded.
Is it time to get excited?
While it’s encouraging to think that Nvidia’s next generation of GPUs won’t be delayed, I still wouldn’t get too excited.
Although ‘kopite7kimi’ has a pretty good track record of accurate leaks, their post gives no indication of where they are getting this information and it’s not entirely clear whether they’re talking about the RTX 6090 or the RTX 60 series as a whole.
Since we’ve only just started 2026, the second half of 2027 is far enough away that there’s still plenty of time for some unexpected delays to crop up, especially since the RAM price crisis shows no signs of ending anytime soon.
The RTX 60 series launching around the same time as GTA 6 on PC could also be wishful thinking on my part. Rockstar, the company behind the iconic franchise, has not mentioned anything about a PC release. I’m still holding out hope that GTA 6 will end up on PC, as every other mainline entry in the series has (in fact, the original game started out as a PC game), but there’s no guarantee it will release in 2027, despite it being a year after the (much-delayed) launch on consoles, which is scheduled for later this year.
I don’t want to be too negative, but even Yeah Although the RTX 60 series avoids delays due to the RAM price crisis, there could still be repercussions, with Nvidia’s already expensive GPUs possibly becoming even more expensive.
