NYT Connections Today (game #793) – The answers
The responses to today’s connections, game #793 are …
- Yellow: Ten groups Bowling pins, commandments, decade, fingers
- Green: places with lanes Bowling, road, supermarket, pool
- Blue: Reference points in the center of New York Bowling Green, Brooklyn Bridge, City Hall, Wall Street
- Purple: things with holes Bowling ball, strainer, golf course, sponge
- My qualification: Hard
- My score: 2 errors
I will be honest, I was quite impressed with myself when I obtained groups of ten and then seconds later crushed when it was revealed as the yellow group.
The first of my mistakes came to assemble things with holes. I saw the link, but I put the Brooklyn bridge instead of the sponge. What seems ridiculous in retrospect, but was thinking of cleaning sponges instead of the real, in addition the Brooklyn bridge has some holes.
For the reference points in the center of New York, I gathered a group incorrectly, thinking that we were looking for locations on the covers of the Bob Dylan albums.
There are several shots in New York (The freewheelin ‘bob dylan and ROAD 61 revisited) But I was very far with Brooklyn Bridge, Wall Street, Highway and City Hall, but it took me to “One Away” and helped me rethink.
I had not heard of Bowling Green before (the oldest public park in New York), but it seemed the most logical name of the place of the options I had left.
NYT Connections responses yesterday (Monday, August 11, game #792)
- Yellow: Ordinary Normal, simple, standard, vanilla
- Green: Abandon Desert, dump, garnet, thread
- Blue: Specifications in consumer packaging Count, measure, volume, weight
- Purple: dark ____ Ages, chocolate, horse, matter
What are NYT connections?
Nyt Connections is one of the several increasingly popular words games made by the New York Times. It challenges him to find groups of four elements that share something in common, and each group has a different level of difficulty: green is easy, yellow a little harder, blue often quite hard and purple generally very difficult.
On the positive side, he technically does not need to solve the end, since he can answer it for an elimination process. In addition, you can make up to four mistakes, which gives you some space to breathe.
However, it is a bit more involved than something like Wordle, and there are many opportunities for the game to move you with tricks. For example, be careful with homophones and other words games that could disguise the answers.
It is playable for free through the Nyt Games site in desktop or mobile.
