NYT Connections Today (game #814) – The answers
The responses to today’s connections, game #814, are …
- Yellow: curses Expletives, four -letter words, blasphemies, swear
- Green: in “A visit by St. Nicholas” Christmas, house, mouse, moving
- Blue: used by the magic aree Ken Parring, mesh shirt, necklace, vest
- Purple: starting with possessive determinants Arenque, histamine, mystery, ouroboros
- My qualification: Hard
- My score: 2 errors
Another incredibly difficult connection game, although perhaps I am underestimating the cultural impact of Ken’s arete magic, the short -term Ken variant of Mattel in 1992 that made a brief appearance in the Barbie Movie with other discontinued dolls.
Fortunately, I did not fail completely, since I had managed to gather curses and in “a visit by St. Nicholas” before a series of random conjectures helped me use Magic Ken without knowing what the group would be, I assumed that I could have something to do with the bands of children, so it was not far away.
The purple group is a good example of something that sounds much more complicated that really is, although I am sure they could have found a less dark word than Ouroboros, although now I know what a symbol of a snake that eats its own tail is called. Every day is a school day.
NYT Connections responses yesterday (Monday, September 1, game #813)
- Yellow: First appearance Debut, introduction, launch, premiere
- Green: those celebrated with vacation Mother, President, San Patricio, Valentine’s Day
- Blue: Famous poets Bishop, Burns, Lorde, Pope
- Purple: What “Cardinal” could refer Bird, Clergy Member, MLB player, NFL player
What are NYT connections?
Nyt Connections is one of the several increasingly popular words games made by the New York Times. It challenges him to find groups of four elements that share something in common, and each group has a different level of difficulty: green is easy, yellow a little harder, blue often quite hard and purple generally very difficult.
On the positive side, he technically does not need to solve the end, since he can answer it for an elimination process. In addition, you can make up to four mistakes, which gives you some space to breathe.
However, it is a bit more involved than something like Wordle, and there are many opportunities for the game to move you with tricks. For example, be careful with homophones and other words games that could disguise the answers.
It is playable for free through the Nyt Games site in desktop or mobile.
