NYT Strands Today (game #446) – The answers
The responses to today’s threads, game #446, are …
- Fava
- KIDNEY
- BLACK
- GREEN
- NAVY
- Cannellini
- Spangram: Bean salad
- My qualification: Easy
- My score: Perfect
The biggest challenge today was to solve how to spell Cannellini. Apart from that, this was one of the fastest thread games I have played, perhaps because like so many beans.
Immediately I knew what we were looking for the song “The musical fruit”, since, well, beans have the reputation of making people make some bum notes. The way to avoid this is to use dry beans that have been soaked during the night in a pinch of salt, but that is quite shovel if you are only a informal bean salad chompe.
As for the argument on the classification of beans, the answer is that technically, beans are a type of fruit, specifically a legume. However, they are often classified as vegetables and they are unlikely to find them dating bananas.
