OK. I may not be at my best today, but I hope I’m not the only person baffled by this edition of Strands.
I managed to get around the board correctly with the help of a hint, but I couldn’t see what the connection was with all the search words to BOXINGDAY. Maybe, I thought, it’s a cultural difference and there’s a great tradition of Boxing Day SHOES in the US that people outside the US have never heard of.
Finally I got that “box” was the link, although I still don’t understand the “please wait” thing. Does it have something to do with phone booths?
Answers from yesterday’s NYT Strands (Thursday, December 25, game #662)
- SIRS
- DRUMMERS
- maids
- PIPERES
- SWANS
- LADIES
- SPANGRAM: CHRISTMAS
