Are you looking for a different day?
A new NYT Strands puzzle appears at midnight every day for your time zone, which means some people are always playing “today’s game” while others play “yesterday’s.” If you are instead looking for the Thursday puzzle then click here: NYT Strands Tips and Answers for Thursday, October 16 (Game #592).
Strands is the latest NYT word game after Wordle, Spelling Bee, and Connections, and it’s a lot of fun. It can be difficult, though, so read on for my Strands suggestions.
Want more word-based fun? Then check out my NYT Connections Today and Quordle Today pages for tips and answers for those games, and Marc’s Wordle Today page for the original viral word game.
SPOILER WARNING: Today’s NYT Strands info is below, so don’t read on if you don’t want to know the answers.

NYT Strands Today (Game #593): The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands game number 593 are…
- CAPER
- CAVORT
- JUMP
- HATCH
- TRUDGE
- CAPER
- SPANGRAM: SILLY RIDE
- My rating: Hard
- My score: 1 track
Funny thing aside, this was a really complicated game, involving several words I’d heard of but never had reason to spell.
Luckily, I discovered a lot of non-game words and a clue gave me CAPER, which started my slow progress around the board.
I immediately thought the topic was about walking styles, but it wasn’t until I got the spangram that I realized the category was SILLYWALKS.
I’m sure this quest was well received in the Czech city of Brno, as every March they organize a Silly Walks festival in honor of the Monty Python sketch, The Ministry of Silly Walks. But I can’t help but feel offended that TRAIPSE is considered “dumb,” since it’s something I’m often told I do: being someone who doesn’t like walking at any speed.
