NYT Strands Today (Game #589): The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands game #589 are…
- FINCH
- HAWK
- GOOSE
- DUCK
- WARBLER
- WREN
- THRUSH
- SPANGRAM: FALLMIGRATION
- My rating: Hard
- My score: Perfect
“Bringing binoculars” at first seemed like a real mystery. Binoculars are the sort of thing people would take on whale-watching boat trips or if they were spies, but I couldn’t think of any occasion that was worthy of a Strands collection.
Then I found FINCH and HAWK on the board, and realized the topic was related to bird watching, or specifically, according to the extra-long spangram, to watching the FALL MIGRATION.
Despite including some short bird names, aside from the tricky WARBLER, this was not an easy game and took me longer than usual to complete.
Answers from yesterday’s NYT Strands (Sunday, October 12, game #588)
- SPADES
- CUPS
- WHIST
- BRIDGE
- PINOCLEUS
- EUCHRE
- SPANGRAM: TRICKS
