NYT Strands Today (Game #763): The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands game number 763 are…
- KANGAROO
- BILBY
- KOALA
- WOMBATO
- OPOSSUM
- SPANGRAM: MARSUPIALS
- My rating: Hard
- My score: 2 tracks
A very curious topic where the first thing I thought of was KANGAROO, because of the bags in which they keep their babies, boxing gloves and loose coins.
Fortunately this was correct, as the only other “bags” that came to mind were those used by bodybuilders in the 1980s.
So, unsurprisingly, after finding KANGAROO, I drew a blank and used my collection of non-game words to buy a couple of clues: BILBY didn’t help much, but with KOALA I went looking for the word MARSUPIALS, which I thought applied to animals from Australia, but actually refers to animals that raise their young in the aforementioned pouches.
There were also tricky words in today’s game, including OPOSSUM, which took me a few tries to sort correctly because I thought it started with a P and not an O, which depends on whether you’re using American or Australian spelling.
Answers from yesterday’s NYT Strands (Saturday, April 4, game #762)
- DAFFODIL
- TULIP
- HYACINTH
- SAFFRON
- SNOWDROP
- SPANGRAM: SPRING FLOWER
