Are you looking for a different day?
A new NYT Strands puzzle appears at midnight every day for your time zone, which means some people are always playing “today’s game” while others play “yesterday’s.” If instead you are looking for the Saturday puzzle then click here: NYT Strands Tips and Answers for Saturday, November 1 (Game #608).
Strands is the latest NYT word game after Wordle, Spelling Bee, and Connections, and it’s a lot of fun. It can be difficult, though, so read on for my Strands suggestions.

NYT Strands Today (Game #609): The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands game number 609 are…
- BEGIN
- PASSED
- FINISH
- CORRIDOR
- HYDRATION
- TIMEKEEPER
- SPANGRAM: MARATHON
- My rating: Easy
- My score: Perfect
I’ve signed up to run a MARATHON a dozen times, but I’ve only actually participated in three. This was mainly due to injuries, confirming the widespread belief that the most difficult part of a marathon is getting to the starting line safely, rather than the race itself.
Today’s Strands was much easier (nice of the NYT to put START in the position where many of us begin our searches), but it didn’t remind me of dragging my angry legs through the streets of London when I somehow defied the odds and completed 26.2 miles.
The hardest word to find was HYDRATION, a key component of endurance sport that is often overlooked, although I wouldn’t recommend the beer I drank at a race. That being said, it may have been the fries I ate with it that set me back the most.
Answers from yesterday’s NYT Strands (Saturday, November 1, game #608)
- DELICIOUS
- SCRUMPTIOUS
- TASTY
- DELICIOUS
- SPANGRAM: GOOD TASTE
