The answers to today’s Strands game #711 are…
- ESSENTIAL
- RISKY
- CRITICAL
- DECISIVE
- IMPERATIVE
- SPANGRAM: HIGH APPROACHES
- My rating: Hard
- My score: 1 track
I’m sure people who spend their lives attending marketing meetings are very familiar with the kind of high-performance language in this game, but I was a little taken aback. Usually with Strands, once I start searching, momentum carries me forward and I scroll through the letters to find all the words.
Today was different. After watching PIVOTAL and RISKY, I had a good idea of what the theme meant, but I was still struggling to find other words.
Fortunately, a clue gave me CRITICAL, which helped me see “in play” and then “high” to form the HIGHSTAKES spangram.
Answers from yesterday’s NYT Strands (Wednesday, February 11, game #710)
- PECAN
- HAZELNUT
- PISTACHIO
- ALMOND
- CASHEW
- MACADAMIA
- SPANGRAM: GONUTS
