NYT Strands Today (Game #627): The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands game number 627 are…
- RUMOR
- GOSSIP
- REPORT
- RUMORS
- SPANGRAM: SPREAD THE WORD
- My rating: Hard
- My score: 1 track
The topic left little doubt as to what we were looking for, but after receiving RUMORS and GOSSIP fairly quickly, I hit a wall so I took a hint.
My keyword, REPORT, opened HEARSAY and I immediately saw the words “propagation” and “word”, although it took me until the end of the game to match them with “the” to form the spangram.
Saying the last word was a joy. What a great word SCUTTLEBUTT is (worth doing this search to find it on its own) and definitely one that should return to common language. All this bold talk of spilling tea and throwing dirt is just rumors.
Answers from yesterday’s NYT Strands (Wednesday, November 19, game #626)
- MAGNET
- RABBI
- PROPHET
- BUDDHA
- MONK
- PRIEST
- SPANGRAM: RELIGIOUS FIGURES
