Are you looking for a different day?
A new NYT Strands puzzle appears at midnight every day for your time zone, which means some people are always playing “today’s game” while others play “yesterday’s.” If you are instead looking for Wednesday’s puzzle then click here: NYT Strands Tips and Answers for Wednesday, October 15 (Game #591).

NYT Strands Today (Game #592): The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands game number 592 are…
- SPORTS
- GEOGRAPHY
- MUSIC
- HISTORY
- CINEMA
- NEWS
- SPANGRAM: TRIVIANIGHT
- My rating: Hard
- My score: Perfect
I had both “sport” and “history” as non-game words before watching SPORTS and HISTORY, but once I saw it I knew it would be a matter of collecting the cheeses one by one, just like we did with Trivial chase in the past.
Personally, I love TRIVIANIGHT and it was one of the things that kept me going during the pandemic, when I regularly connected online with friends and family and we each took turns asking each other questions, although it was often very different to the categories in this game, with murders, famous noses, Welsh castles and trousers all appearing in a relative’s quiz.
It was good to see a spangram moving back and forth after yesterday’s unsatisfying snake, a feature that made for a fun and slightly complicated game.
Yesterday’s NYT Strands Answers (Wednesday, October 15, Game #591)
- OPEN
- NEAR
- ALARM
- LOBBY
- FLOOR
- BASEMENT
- SPANGRAM: ELEVATOR BUTTONS
