NYT Strands Today (Game #599): The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands game number 599 are…
- AZALEA
- HEMLOCK
- FOXGLOVE
- BELLADONNA
- OLEANDER
- SPANGRAM: POISONOUS
- My rating: Hard
- My score: 1 track
I think this is the longest I’ve spent completing a Strands game, especially one where I used a hint.
After catching a few non-game words, I saw the spangram first, quickly followed by AZALEA, with the letter Z hanging helpfully in the bottom left corner.
The track gave me HEMLOCK and I slowly moved forward from there. OLEANDER was my final word, a word I would never have learned if the letters had connected in a less easy way.
Fortunately, everything turned out well even though I didn’t know what I was looking for. Such ignorance is also how one comes into contact with POISONOUS plants, so I will treat this game as an education.
Answers from yesterday’s NYT Strands (Wednesday, October 22, game #598)
- BATTERY
- COIN
- PENCIL
- CORD
- BUG
- TAPE
- SPANGRAM: GARBAGE DRAWER
