NYT Strands Today (Game #688): The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands game #688 are…
- HEEL
- LANGUAGE
- VAMP
- ONLY
- CORD
- LOGO
- EYELET
- SPANGRAM: JUSTFORKICKS
- My rating: Easy
- My score: Perfect
For the second game in a row, I watched the spangram first, though to be completely honest, I watched “just” first and then kept plugging into JUSTFORKICS, ending the mystery of the issue in a second.
Of all the parts of a shoe in today’s puzzle, VAMP is the one that’s new to me and I now know it’s the word for the small area between the toe box and the side panel that contains the eyelets.
During my research on sneaker parts, I also learned that the area above the heel notch, and often the section that houses the LOGO, is called the mustache. For me, this is the area that often rubs on me when I put on a new pair, so now I can tell anyone who’s interested that it rubs on my mustache.
Yesterday’s NYT Strands Answers (Monday, January 19, Game #687)
- VIBRATE
- EARTHQUAKE
- WOBBLE
- INFLUENCE
- TREMBLE
- HESITATE
- SWING
- SPANGRAM: LETSROCK
